Winter Doldrums
While admiring my barren blog page I noticed the similarity to the 14-inches of snow draped everywhere outside the window.
Fiberoptic from Qwest became available finally on our block here – stumbled upon a PhoneCo Tech connecting the first house to the new equipment hutches up the street last Friday and asked him to put in a referral (so he could get the commission) and they actually called Monday morning; we are scheduled to have installation before 5pm Friday.
So endeth almost thirty years of dial-up internet.
We had kept dial-up as a philosophical discipline, of one never expecting information gratification beyond what 48kbs service level provided – meaning use the Force WISELY – and considering what xx Mbs will provide I expect to have a new IT renaissance!
